About
Recognizing the signs of labor trafficking of farmworkers is essential for National Farmworker Job Program (NFJP) and State Workforce Agency staff. In this session, presenters will help participants understand the vulnerability of the migrant and seasonal farmworker community and raise awareness about available resources as well as underscore the importance of collaboration between the State Monitor Advocates (SMA) and NFJP grantees to conduct outreach to farmworkers.

Diana Fimbres, Senior Program Manager from Polaris, will present the facts about trafficking in general and in agriculture, and describe what they do to end trafficking. Polaris operates the Nation’s Human trafficking hotline and receives federal funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families.
Additionally, Mariana Rodriguez, Director of the UMOS-Latina Resource center, will describe their organization's NFJP outreach staff experiences with labor trafficking in Wisconsin and other states. They operate and provide services in Wisconsin, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Texas.
