Wagner-Peyser employment service (ES) staff are integral to the comprehensive offerings of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funded American Job Centers (AJCs). Among the many partners within the AJC is the ES team. ES was established nearly a century ago to facilitate job seeker and employer needs through challenging times and economic booms.

Funds authorized under sec. 7(a) of the Wagner-Peyser Act must be used to provide basic career services as identified in § 678.430(a) [https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-20/chapter-V/part-678/subpart-B/section-678.430#p-678.430(a)] of this chapter [https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-20/chapter-V/part-678/subpart-B/section-678.430#p-678.430(b)] and secs. 134(c)(2)(A)(i)-(xi) of WIOA, and may be used to provide individualized career services as identified in § 678.430(b) of this chapter and sec. 134(c)(2)(A)(xii) of WIOA. Funds authorized under sec. 7(b) of the Wagner-Peyser Act may be used to provide career services. Career services must be provided consistent with the requirements of the Wagner-Peyser Act. Therefore, WP staff are able to provide 1:1 job matching services as it aligns with basic career services defined in 678.430(a). We hope you find this helpful and that you can attend the live event!
