About

Healthcare is one of the most popular Construction Plus (C+) pathways among U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) YouthBuild programs, and for good reason: overall employment in healthcare occupations is projected to grow 11.2% from 2022 to 2032 — four times faster than the average for all occupations. It can be hard to keep up with this rapidly expanding sector, but we can help!

Moderator

Jeff Hunt, YouthBuild Program Director, U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Association

Presenter(s)

Antonio McKoy, Senior Director, Workforce Development, YouthBuild Global

This webinar will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn more about healthcare both as an industry and as a viable C+ pathway. You will learn about the certifications and credentials for jobs within the healthcare field, in-demand positions, career pathways and partnerships, and more. Attendees will hear from DOL YouthBuild grantees successfully implementing this pathway, as well as Healthcare Career Advancement Program (H-CAP), a subject matter expert in the industry.

Webinar attendees will:

  • Gain awareness of the many career options within the healthcare sector.
  • Understand what credentials, skills and training are needed to enter the various career options.
  • Identify resources to independently research healthcare pathways (e.g., Bureau of Labor Statistic, competency models).
  • Identify emerging pathways within healthcare including apprenticeships.
  • Understand industry trends to proactively identify opportunities to adjust their credentials, skills training, or curricula to ensure that participants are gaining in-demand skills.

Audience: Job Developers, Directors, Case Managers, Educators, FPOs, and other YouthBuild staff.
