WIOA Youth Assessments and Individual Service Strategies
About
WIOA Youth program assessments help staff identify a young person’s strengths, needs, interests, and barriers to employment and education. The Individual Service Strategy (ISS) uses information from the assessment process to establish an individualized plan for services and activities that support the young person’s education and employment goals.
This page features two resources from the Employment and Training Administration that provide guidance and examples for using assessments and ISS plans as part of the WIOA Youth program:
- Strategies and Considerations: A Brief on Youth Assessments — Provides strategies and considerations for conducting assessments of WIOA Youth program participants.
- Sample Youth Individual Service Strategy (ISS) — Provides a sample ISS developed by the Employment and Training Administration.
