About
External Event: This webinar is hosted by the Center for Advancing Policy on Employment for Youth (CAPE-Youth).
Join CAPE-Youth for a webinar on supporting youth and young adult apprentices with disabilities.
This session, "Opening Doors: Empowering the Disability Talent Pipeline through Apprenticeships," will highlight recommendations that state policymakers and apprenticeship partners can implement to increase participation among apprentices with disabilities. It will also feature two model programs that lead to high wages and full-time employment.
Speakers from The Arc of Southwest Indiana, Toyota, and the Virginia Department of Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) will share their experiences:
- Educating businesses on the value that youth and young adult apprentices with disabilities bring to the workplace;
- Supporting apprentices with disabilities as they navigate apprenticeship programs; and
- Leveraging partnerships and best practices to strengthen outcomes for both employers and apprentices.
A live Q&A will follow the presentation.
